"UNICEF Boosts Meningitis Vaccine Shipments to Rwanda"

UNICEF announced Friday that it is sending 515,000 doses of meningitis vaccine, as well as syringes and antibiotics, to help fight an epidemic of the disease in Rwanda. A UNICEF spokesperson noted that 439 suspected cases and 65 deaths have already been reported. However, she said, "These numbers certainly underestimate the full extent of the outbreak since many cases, deaths among them, are likely to go unreported because they are in communities that we have not necessarily reached."
