"Slovakia, Spain Donate Vaccine Against
Hepatitis to Czech Republic" Czech News Agency (08/26/02)
Slovakia has donated 500 doses of hepatitis A
vaccine and Spain has donated 1,000 vaccines for children to the CzechRepublic for use in flood-afflicted areas
of the country. Czech Health Ministry hygiene and epidemiology section head
Karla Rihova says the donated vaccines will be used to prevent hepatitis A in
children, rescue workers, and clean-up volunteers. As part of the country's
first phase of vaccination, 30,000 people in the CzechRepublic will receive shots against
hepatitis A. Other countries and some private companies have also donated
vaccines to the CzechRepublic.
