"Slovakia, Spain Donate Vaccine Against Hepatitis to Czech Republic" Czech News Agency (08/26/02)
Slovakia has donated 500 doses of hepatitis A vaccine and Spain has donated 1,000 vaccines for children to the Czech Republic for use in flood-afflicted areas of the country. Czech Health Ministry hygiene and epidemiology section head Karla Rihova says the donated vaccines will be used to prevent hepatitis A in children, rescue workers, and clean-up volunteers. As part of the country's first phase of vaccination, 30,000 people in the Czech Republic will receive shots against hepatitis A. Other countries and some private companies have also donated vaccines to the Czech Republic.
