Hundreds of students at South Otago High School in the South Island town
of Balclutha have already been given precautionary antibiotics this week
after six cases were confirmed in 12 days.
Doctors were reported to be exhausted after checking and treating
queues of patients who invaded their surgeries, afraid they had
contracted the disease.
