"The National Network for Immunization Information Launches
Redesigned Website With Back-to-School Vaccination Requirements"
NNii Special Release (08/19/02)
The National Network for Immunization Information (NNii) has
launched its redesigned Web site, enabling visitors to easily
find resource materials, such as information on recommended adult
and child vaccines, school immunization requirements, and current
vaccine issues. The site, located at
http://www.immunizationinfo.org, went live on Aug. 13, 2002. The
new design--which came in response to feedback from a usability
study involving parents, health professionals, and other Web site
visitors--includes an updated state-by-state vaccine database.
In addition to the latest immunization requirements, the database
contains background data on every recommended childhood vaccine,
current immunization schedules, and answers to common questions
about childhood vaccines. The new Vaccine Information pages
gather all of NNii's information on each vaccine in a central
location, and can be easily accessed by clicking on the vaccine's
name. The NNii is a partnership of the Infectious Diseases
Society of America, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society,
the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Nurses
Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the
National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the
American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
