"Major Anti-Polio Immunization Campaign Gets Underway in Ethiopia" Agence France Presse (www.afp.com/english/home) (08/26/02)
A polio vaccination campaign targeting an estimated 800,000 children under five years of age is now underway in Ethiopia's Somali region. The effort will take about three days in urban areas and as long as a week in more rural areas, including a focus on nomad camps near the border of Somalia. Technical and financial support for the program is being provided by UNICEF.
