Hepatitis A case identified in supermarket

Toronto Public Health has identified a case of Hepatitis A in a food
preparation worker at Loblaws supermarket at 3671 Dundas Street West in
Toronto.
Consumption of fresh or prepared products (e.g. vegetable or fruit
platters) from the produce section of this supermarket may have exposed
members of the public to the Hepatitis A virus.
Anyone who consumed fruit or vegetables purchased at this location since
July 19th is encouraged to attend one of a series of vaccination clinics
being held at the Toronto Public Health office at 2340 Dundas Street
West in the Crossways Mall beginning this Sunday.
Although Hepatitis A infection does not always produce illness, symptoms
such as jaundice may occur abruptly and last for at least several weeks.
Officials at Loblaws were contacted today following the report of the
case yesterday evening and have taken immediate action to close the
produce section of the supermarket for disinfecting of the shelves.
