HealthPartners recalls chicken pox vaccine
Bloomington-based HealthPartners Medical Group is contacting about 2,000
patients to warn them that vaccinations for chicken pox administered from
1995 through June may not have been effective.
A problem with a freezer at its Brooklyn Center clinic may have resulted
in the vaccine losing its effectiveness.
HealthPartners is asking patients who received the vaccine at that clinic
during that time to call 952-967-6818 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sun.-Sat. to
schedule a free appointment to either be revaccinated or take a blood test
to determine if they have immunity. If the test shows no immunity, they can
then choose revaccination. HealthPartners also set up a recall hotline at
952-967-7123.
