"Flu Epidemic Ravages Madagascar"

New statistics show that at least 283 people in Madagascar have
died from influenza over the last two months. On Tuesday, the
official death toll stemming from the epidemic was 184; however,
senior Health Ministry official Arther Lamina said Wednesday that
"the death toll in four districts of Fianarantsoa province is 283
deaths among 3,857 reported cases." The outbreak has hit the
young and the elderly particularly hard.
