"Death Toll Jumps in Madagascar Flu Epidemic"

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported Tuesday that 22,646 people been infected in Madagascar's raging flu epidemic, with 671 flu-related deaths occurring in the last two weeks. On August 13, the WHO reported that 444 people had died from the flu and 13,300 cases had been recorded since July. The recent increases, however, could merely be the result of better flu monitoring in the region, according to a WHO spokesperson.
