At a meeting of health ministers from around Australia on Friday, Queensland Health Minister Wendy Edmond raised the issue of adding a meningococcal disease vaccine to the national immunization register.  Edmond noted that tests ensuring that the vaccine for meningococcal disease type C is safe for children should be conducted by clinical experts before the vaccine is added.
