Pakistan's immunization rate for all major diseases is about 40 percent, which is why the Pakistan Pediatric Association (PPA) Center is holding an immunization week in July to raise awareness about vaccines and increase the immunization rate in the country. PPA hopes to eventually raise the immunization rate to 90 percent. As part of the immunization week, PPA's 1,200 members nationwide are being encouraged to hold motivational seminars for community leaders and provide easy access to vaccines for all parents through local immunization centers.
