“Babies Target for New Vaccine”

Auckland medical officials are looking for 150 babies between the ages of six and eight months to take part in a pilot meningococcal vaccine program.  The vaccine--which is working to fight a group B meningococcal disease epidemic in New Zealand--has already been tested in toddlers, children and adults.  The program, which involves giving three doses of the vaccine administered six weeks apart, has received up to NZ$200 million from the government.
