UNICEF Pledges $3 Million to Upgrade Vietnam's
Nha Trang Pasteur Institute
To help the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute achieve
its goal of supplying 4.5 million doses of diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis
vaccine annually for Vietnam's immunization program, UNICEF is providing $3
million in funding for improvements at the facility. The institute, which is
based in Khanh Hoa province, currently produces nearly 1.5 million doses of the
vaccine for the program each year. The facility also plans to produce between 5
million and 10 million doses of tetanus toxoid vaccines.
