"Cases Flare in Taiwan"

Taiwan's health experts are reassessing their strategy for combating severe acute respiratory syndrome, thanks to a new cluster of infections in a Taiwanese hospital. Seven employees have come down with symptoms, two have already tested positive for the virus, and 95 visitors to the emergency room have been put under home quarantine. Taiwan has also announced 26 new probable cases, and health authorities are troubled by the new instances of hospital infections, since they thought that the virus was becoming contained. The hospital outbreaks could be due to a systemic failure or to an infection cycle, and employee exhaustion may also be a factor.
