ARLINGTON,
Va. -- There are no signs of the meningitis bacteria that killed a
teacher at Gunston Middle School.
Jonathan Cook (pictured, left),
41, died Sunday night.
The Arlington County Health
Department later determined that his death was due, in part, to the
bacteria that causes meningitis, which is a highly contagious disease.
All this week, health officials
have been interviewing students and teachers to see who may have been
exposed.
As of Thursday, doctors say no
one at the school has shown any symptoms.
However about 16 children and
three adults were given antibiotics, as a precaution.
Health officials are still
trying to determine how and where Cook became infected.
