"Multiple Travel Vaccinations Seem Safe: Study"

A new study published in the March/April edition of the Journal of Travel Medicine reports that giving travelers multiple vaccines at a time does not appear to have any serious side effects, although minor complaints about headaches, soreness, and fatigue rose in frequency.  The study, conducted by researchers from the University of Munich, tested over 1,000 healthy travelers, administering between one and six vaccinations to each person. Over the course of the nine-month study, 59 percent of the 777 individuals who received multiple shots reported adverse reactions, compared to 43 percent of the 258 volunteers who received just one shot.  Local and systemic side effects increased with the number of shots administered, with the most common reaction listed as pain at the site of the injection.
