Congress is on a fast paced schedule to include reforms to the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program into the Bio Shield bill that will quickly move through Congress. We anticipate that the reforms will be included as part of Senate Bill 15 introduced by Judd Gregg of NH. The current proposal will have the biggest impact on families who have pending lawsuits for thimerosal related injuries. The new proposal will push all pending vaccine litigation into the compensation program. Only cases that were injured in the last six years will qualify. If your child's injury was longer than six years ago you will not be allowed to sue or file in the compensation program.

Plain and simple this is discrimination. Everyone took the risk for products that were mandated and every parent that gave their children the vaccines, paid the excise tax that funds the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. If you have a child with autism and you believe that thimerosal was the cause, Congress needs to hear from you.

Take a look at the list below. If you live in a state that has one of these Senators in it, write to them and tell them about your child and your situation. Explain why you are writing- that your(son/daughter)was injured by vaccines. Tell them you oppose the 6 year only extension on the statute oflimitations. If your child is older than six make sure you tell them that this proposed bill will leave you with no legal recourse to take care of your child. The vaccines were mandated by law and your child took the risk. The government should provide a way to cover your child's medical expenses for the injury that occured.

Do it now. Do it today. Things are moving quickly and this is the time to act.
