USA Today
06/24/03

A survey was conducted by the National Center for Health Statistics between January 2002 and September 2002, asking Americans if they had received a vaccination against influenza in the previous 12 months. Just over 16 percent of people between the ages of 18 years and 49 years said they had been vaccinated; 34.1 percent of those aged 50 years to 64 years acknowledged being immunized against flu, and 65.7 percent of people aged 65 years and over had been vaccinated against the virus.
