PITTSBURGH
-- This weekend, thousands walked to raise money for autism research.
Sunday was the fourth annual
Walk Far for NAAR at Heinz Field.
It raises funds for the
National Alliance for Autism Research.
One local mother of an autistic
child was touched by the thousands who showed their support.
Maggie Garofalo said, "I know
how it has affected our family and my heart goes out to all of these other
families. And I just think it is wonderful that there is so much support
for these children."
Over the past four years, the
walk has raised more than $9 million.
