Acambis and Arrow to Work Together on Novel
Vaccines
Arrow Therapeutics and Acambis have agreed to
collaborate on research on novel vaccines. Initial studies will include an
assessment by Acambis of Arrow's Transposon Mediated Differential Hybridization
target discovery technology, which will be used to identify attenuating genes
and surface proteins for a potential vaccine to be used against a pathogen of
Acambis' choosing. Arrow's technology represents an extremely powerful
approach to the development of new vaccines against some major bacterial
infections and will complement Acambis' strategy to meet major unmet medical
needs and commercial opportunities with live, attenuated vaccine products, said
Acambis Chief Scientific Officer Thomas Monath.
