“Solomon Islands Health Sector to Receive $12.5 Million in Foreign Aid”

Governments and agencies around the world are contributing funds to support the medical community in the Solomon Islands.  The World Health Organization, UNICEF, the Japanese government, Australian Agency for International Development and various other groups have contributed a total of about $12.5 million to buy vaccines, drugs, and medical equipment.  The Japanese government donated over $700,000 in the form of vaccines and emergency drug assistance for hospitals.
