U.S. IMMUNIZATION NEWS

“Storage Flaw Spurs Revaccination Effort”

Associated Press (www.ap.org) (05/31/03)

About 600 children who received immunizations at the Mid Dakota Clinic in Bismarck, N.D., need new vaccinations due to improperly refrigerated doses that possibly made the vaccines less effective.  The problem was discovered after a random visit to the clinic by the state Department of Health in February, and the problems dated back to July 2002.  Parents of children who received vaccinations against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, polio, and influenza at the clinic may return for new shots free of charge.
