Beijing -- The
last 12 SARS patients in Beijing have been
declared free of the disease but remain in
hospital, state media reported yesterday.
"This appears to be the tail end of SARS in China," said Bob Dietz, the World Health Organization spokesman in Beijing, in response to the report. The 12 patients have no more symptoms and are
no longer infectious, Liang Wannian, deputy
director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of
Health, was quoted as saying by the official
