Namibia:
Immunization Drive Falls Short of Target
Between July 29 and
July 31, a mop-up polio immunization campaign in Namibia will target children
who were not involved in the recent National Immunization Days campaign. The
most recent campaign fell short of the 90 percent coverage target. All parents
of children under the age of five are urged by the Namibian health ministry to
take them to health clinics to receive the free vaccine. Children between the
ages of nine months and five years are being given vitamin A supplements as
well.
