Australia has confirmed first SARS case in the country

Australian health authorities have confirmed the first case of the SARS virus in the country.

A German tourist who visited Hong Kong is believed to have carried the virus to Australia in February.

She was treated in New South Wales but was not diagnosed with SARS at the time.

Doctors claim that there is no threat of the virus having spread to anyone she came into contact with.

The woman has since recovered from the illness.
