Deadline for Flu Vaccine

To ensure that Australia can cope with a possible flu pandemic, flu vaccine manufacturers in the country must prove that they are capable of providing enough vaccine doses if a worldwide flu epidemic occurred next year. With flu pandemics usually occurring every 30 years, the next pandemic is expected in the near future. The flu pandemic in 1918-1919 killed about 40 million people.
