Aventis Pasteur opened on Thursday its new Toronto, Canada-based research center that will lead an international effort to develop vaccines against cancer. Aventis is investing about C$30 million per year into the research program as well as staffing the new facility with 60 employees. The program will focus on creating vaccines against melanoma, colorectal, and breast cancer. The program will possibly enter its first vaccines to the market by as early as 2008.
