Huambo: More than 300,000 children to be vaccinated against polio


Huambo: 07/18 - Public Health services in the central Huambo province are expecting to vaccinate against polio more than 300,000 children aged up to 5 years old, in the next stage of the vaccination campaign, to take place July 25 to 27.

Speaking to ANGOP the head of the Broad Vaccination Program (PAV), Amões Domingos Laurindo, said that for the first stage of the campaign it will be necessary to have about 455,955.00 vaccine dosages.

Teams have been created to carry out the vaccination program that will be deployed in the eleven municipalities of the province.

Amões Laurindo informed that the campaign will have the support of the UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO) and a few other NGO`s.

In last year's campaign about 313.732.00 children were vaccinated in Huambo province. (Source: ANGOP)
