“Norwegian Biotech Gets U.S. Grant for Bioterrorism Vaccine”

A $2 million grant from the U.S. government will finance the development of bioterrorism vaccines at Inovio, a Norwegian biotechnology company.  The vaccines will use Inovio’s gene technology, which injects DNA directly into muscle tissue using electric impulses, rather than having a virus carry the DNA.  The result is a faster and longer-lasting vaccine, says Inovio.  The company will work on the bioterrorism vaccines in cooperation with the U.S. Army.
