As part of its efforts to develop a vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), Japan will receive coronavirus strains from Taiwan, the Philippines, and Vietnam, according to Japanese Health Minister Chikara Sakaguchi. Japan has already received strains from Hong Kong, Sakaguchi noted.
