SWIM FOR HOPE FOUNDATION

On August 13 2003 The Swim For Hope Foundation will host it’s 5th annual swim around Manhattan with Ben Kramer. The 47 year old with autism will swim the 29 miles around Manhattan Island. Thanks to a partnership with Circle Line Cruises, individuals and corporate donors now have the opportunity to participate in the event.

12 Circle Line cruise ships along with 14 Beast speed boats will sail that day focused on autism. Volunteers, supplied with literature about NYFAC and Autism will be on board every ship. The literature will carry the names of all our corporate sponsors.  The volunteers will pass the hat during Mr. Kramer’s journey. Volunteers will also meet and greet Beast riders and hand them the information sponsored by you.

Later in the day after Mr. Kramer completes his swim a party will be held at Antarctica tavern owned Kevin Barry a father of a child with autism. Mr. Barry has donated his establishment at 287 Hudson Street, New York, following the Swim for a blowout bash from 7:30 pm. To 11:30 pm.  A $50.00 cover charge will be charged for the open bar buffet limited to 200 individuals.

Swim for Hope was founded by Paul Balsamo and myself with the dream of raising money for research, education and to support various programs offered to children with Autism and their families. Together with Ben Kramer, who himself has autism, we set up this foundation to do just that. Through Ben's annual swim around Manhattan and other planned "swims" we hope to assist parents, schools and fund research projects that work to further the educational options of children afflicted with autism.
The Swim For Hope Foundation (SWHF) was started in 1999 by Paul Palsamo and Andrew Bauman President of the New York Foundation for Autistic Children (NYFAC).
