      Course Description:

      This seminar will provide a descriptive analysis of the unusual
factors related to Asperger's Syndrome. Topics covered will include
receiving and understanding the diagnosis, language, social interaction,
motor challenges and sensory issues. Strategies to reduce characteristics
that are the most conspicuous or debilitating will be presented. This
seminar provides lots of practical advice and a comprehensive insight into
the world of Asperger's/high functioning Autism.

      .  Describe appropriate assessments for Asperger's/ high functioning
Autism;

      .  Explain several methods for improving social skills;

      .  Identify methods for improving conversation skills and to develop
imagination and visual thinking;

      .  Describe methods to help reduce anxiety, depression and anger in

      Educational Credits:

      6 contact hours.
      Therapeutic Services, Inc. (TSI) is approved by the Continuing
Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
to offer continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and
audiology. This program is offered for .6 CEU's (Intermediate Level,
Professional Area). ASHA approval of CE Provider status does not imply
endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.

      Nassau Psychological Services Institute (NPSI) is approved by the
American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for
psychologists. Cetificate of completion for 6 CE credits will be awarded to
psychologists who attend the entire workshop, complete the evaluation forms
and submit a $10 check to NPSI-CE. Partial credits will not be awarded. Late
arrival or early departure will preclude receipt of certificate. All forms

      Anthony Attwood, Ph.D
      Clinical Psychologist from Brisbane, Australia, Tony brings over 30
years of experience with individuals with Autism/Asperger's/P.D.D. He will
be discussing innovative techniques for improving social skills, learning
friendships, conducting social skills groups for adolescents and
understanding and expressing emotions. This is a rare opportunity in the
U.S. to hear from one of the top minds on Asperger's Syndrome. Dr Tony
Attwood has worked with hundreds of individuals affected by Autism and
Asperger's Syndrome, ranging widely in age, ability and background. With a
special interest in early diagnosis, severe challenging behaviour and
Asperger's Syndrome, his experience covers the full range of the spectrum,
from the profoundly disabled to the most highly functioning.
