"Smallpox Vaccine Plan Hits Delay in Florida"
USA Today (www.usatoday.com) (01/23/03) P. 6D
Delivery of the smallpox vaccination to 30,000 disease investigators and front-line hospital employees in Florida was supposed to start on Friday, but smallpox vaccine supplies from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not yet reached the state. It is unknown when the supplies will arrive. And Jeanne Eckes-Roper, regional manager for trauma services and weapons of mass destruction for the North Broward Hospital District, notes that questions of who should receive the smallpox vaccine "have yet to be defined."
