Xinhua News Agency (202.84.17.11/en/main.htm) (01/14/03)

Speaking at a one-day advocacy meeting ahead of a national measles vaccination campaign in February, Rwanda's minister of state for HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases, Innocent Nyaruhirira, appealed to all Rwandans to help fight infectious diseases.  He also stressed the importance of children getting vaccinated twice against measles to ensure their immunity against what can be a deadly disease.  The two-week measles immunization effort will target 3.3 million children between the ages of nine months and 14 years in age.
