A polio immunization effort in Nigeria's
Kano district has divided the Kibiya local government area into three zones,
each of which will be carefully monitored by a supervising facilitator with
sufficient vaccine supplies. Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Ibrahim, the primary health
coordinator in the area, recently called on village, ward, and religious leaders
to educate the public on the importance of vaccines during a workshop for the
campaign. Polio is on the rise in Kano state, and officials noted the
importance of citizens coming out to support the vaccination campaign.
