ABSTRACT
- People should see that
they get enough vitamin D in winter months, when they are indoors
most of time and may not get enough vitamin D from sun; map; photos;
chart shows dietary sources for vitamin D (M) Most people can obtain
90 to 100 percent of the vitamin D they need from a little sun.
But if you are reading this in the northern two-thirds of the
country, don't bother heading outside for a quick dose. (Not that we
discourage a brisk daily constitutional.) Winter sunlight is
inadequate for vitamin D production. You are living off what you
built up from warm-weather sun and the relatively small amounts in a
few foods.
How multi-packs work: A multi-pack is an archive
package that saves you money by allowing you to pre-purchase a set
number of articles in bulk at a reduced price. You can then debit
from your multi-pack and quickly access articles from the archive at
your convenience over the lifetime of the multi-pack.
Once you purchase an article, you may view it
as often as you like over the next 90 days. Archive articles do not
include photos, charts or graphics
