VITAMIN A LINKED TO WEAKENED VITAMIN A LINKED TO WEAKENED BONES Men with very high levels of vitamin A in their blood had more fractures over a 30-year period than those with low levels, according to a Swedish study. The research confirms three earlier studies in women linking high levels of vitamin A to higher rates of broken hips and weak bones. Some experts said that other factors might have contributed to the higher fracture rate. The study, by doctors at University Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden, is in today's New England Journal of Medicine.   (AP)
