"Myanmar Continues Immunization Campaign"

On Dec. 8, the first round of the Eighth National Immunization Days in Myanmar ended with 6.2 million children under the age of five years having received the oral polio vaccine. The second round of the campaign is now under way. Myanmar recorded 60 polio cases in 1988, but it has remained polio-free since 2001.
