"MedImmune Expects Approval Soon for Flu Vaccine"

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reportedly has requested some additional information from MedImmune regarding its FluMist nasal-spray flu vaccine, but it has not asked for new human testing. Company CEO David M. Mott said he does not see any of the questions in the FDA's letter, which arrived on Wednesday, even though it was not expected until the end of February, as "impediments to the vaccine being approved. Last month, an FDA advisory committee recommended the approval of FluMist for healthy individuals between the ages of five and 49 years.
