Letter from the White House to Ray Gallup:

On November 22, 2002, I faxed a letter to President George Bush at the White House about Congressman Dan Burton's call for an autism conference (Fax 202 456-2461).

The following is the response I received in the mail.

The White House

Washington

January 15, 2003

Dear Mr. Gallup:

I have been asked to acknowledge and thank you for your letter to the President requesting that he host an autism conference at the White House.

We have given very careful consideration to the possibility of scheduling such an event at the White House. Your interest is indeed appreciated but, unfortunately, because of the very heavy demands on the President's calendar it just is not possible to add this event to his commitments.

The President has asked that I convey his warmest wishes to you.

Sincerely,

Bradley A. Blakeman

Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Appointments and Scheduling

Note: Please consider faxing a letter to the President, if you haven't already.
