"Innogenetics Extends Hepatitis C Vaccine Trials After 'Positive' Results" AFX-Europe (www.afxpress.com/corporate/AFX-Europe.htm) (01/15/03)
A hepatitis C vaccine candidate from Innogenetics has been shown to benefit people who are not helped by interferon-alfa treatment, the traditional medication for hepatitis C. A new study will look at 150 people chronically infected with the disease. The long-term effects of the vaccine will be gauged by looking at past recipients over an 18 month period. Innogenetics CEO Philippe Archinard says a partner is necessary for his firm to complete clinical testing for the vaccine.
