"Angola: No Case of Poliomyelitis Recorded Over 15 Months" Africa News Service (www.allafrica.com) (01/29/03)
Although 186 cases of acute flaccid paralysis, not confirmed as polio, were detected in Angola last year, no cases of polio have been reported in Angola over the last 15 months. The polio vaccination campaign continues in the country, especially in areas that are harder to access due to ongoing war. Angola hopes to be certified as polio-free by 2005.
