Dear Mr. Editor,

For those fallen Americans would you please consider this article for print?

I met a lady in the lab at work the other day, that has a 3 year old daughter now in the autism spectrum (ASD). That makes 4 families in my small office building alone.

Something is desperately wrong with established medicine that simply begins assaulting the immune system of our babies at day one with vaccines and then does nothing to treat the sick children but prescribing antibiotics. Some 30 to 40 separate dosages of diseases are now given prior to school age (some of these are 3 in ones and boosters).

The antibiotics given to treat these sick children then attack the intestines and promote yeast infections. This can eventually lead to a leaky intestinal tract. Eventually the parents are left with a disabled biological mess for the rest of their lives that is now beyond repair. Dr. William Shaw of Great Plains Lab and Dr. Andrew Wakefield are two doctors who have stood up to the status quo and are not afraid to tell the truth. Now I spend my vacation time going to medical conferences listening to people who do not know my son exists describe his biological condition to a tee. Co-incidental, no. It is an epidemic.

Another woman, from the Des Moines area, is now going down the same journey as we have, only she is 4 to 5 years our junior. She just posted an email to our group known as AutismIowa@yahoogroups.com . It makes me wonder how many have to fall to bad medicine before things change? As the recent homeland security bill is jockeying to pass riders that protect the pharmaceuticals as they have pumped mercury (2nd most toxic natural substance on the planet) into our babies for decades. It makes me wonder, is this not the 21st century. Yes, it is. A century where human dignity and life is a commodity. Should we be surprised that pharmaceutical profits are more important that the newborn and the families struggling to raise the "Future of America."

His book is co-authored by 4 doctors and two parents. Just the first chapter of this book is an excellent read for any parent. It speaks of the environmental causes of this epidemic. One issue that Bill has researched is the explosion of the use of antibiotics in this country. In 1949, we produced 80 tons per year. In 2000, we produced 20,000 tons per year.

Now that sounds like a money maker to me.

But, what about our children? What about Autism, PDD, ADHD, ADD? What about our rivers and streams that test positive for antibiotics?

What about the prevalence of yeast infections in children with severe developmental delays and the explosive numbers of these children in our society. No correlation? That is not what Bill Shaw has found. Just read past chapter one.

In fact oral antibiotics used to be covered with Nystatin (an anti-fungal) to counter the effects of the antibiotics on the intestinal tract. Not anymore. However, Nystatin given in large enough doses is able to counter act the overgrowth of yeast. Is this considered a standard treatment by the establishment? No. You have to learn this lesson the hard way.

Doctor after doctor scoffed at our concerns. It was not until our connections with other parents and eventually the DAN doctors (Defeat Autism Now) that Joshua's yeast was brought under control. What was the established medical communities response? Now let's see here. It must be time for this lads shots and oh you say he has an ear infection let's try some antibiotics for that and the yeast thing and the behavioral issues. Well the yeast is not yeast it is just a rash....I have studied such things. And the behavioral issues...well that is just because he has a new younger sister. Would you like an additional dose or two of mercury to go with that medicine?

Mercury is the second most toxic substance known to man and our rivers are choking on antibiotics. Sounds like a money maker to me. Keep those stock prices up.

How many more must fall?

Bio-Terrorism is of concern today. Perhaps the enemy is within our own borders. Do you think?
