"Iraqi Children Vaccinated for Polio"
Associated Press (www.ap.org) (02/23/03); Mroue, Bassem
A five-day, door-to-door polio immunization campaign began on Sunday with a goal of vaccinating 4 million Iraqi children under the age of five against the disease. UNICEF has donated financial aid and assisted with training over the last six years in Iraq, which has been polio-free since 1999. The campaign was advertised in Iraq on radio, television, and via mosques' loudspeakers.
