KENNEWICK GENERAL IS giving
the vaccine to staff on a voluntary basis.
We spoke with Kadlec Medical Center in Richland today, and
they told us they haven t decided to offer the vaccine to staff
because it s too high of a liability.
Hospital management has talked about the vaccinations at
great length, but feel they wouldn t be able to afford a lawsuit if
they pass the virus on to a patient.
Head of the infection control division at Kadlec, Jim
Connerly said, We really just don t think at this point that we re
covered enough to make it worth while doing the vaccinations.
We've also spoken with Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, they
too have decided not to offer the vaccinations for liability
reasons.
Just last week Prosser Memorial announced it would not give
the vaccinations for the same reasons.
Connerly said about fifty employees at Kadlec offered to
volunteer if the hospital decides to give the vaccines. |
