Vaccinations Underway in Ituri" Africa News Service (www.allafrica.com)

Medair, an international relief nongovernmental
organization, announced recently that a second measles immunization campaign was
launched in the Ituri District of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This
effort will target an additional 20,000 children who were not reached during a
week-long campaign last month in which over 100,000 children between the ages of
six months and 15 years in Bunia proper were immunized. Medair said the initial
campaign was held in response to reports in last December of over 300 measles
cases in the region, with 16 deaths.
