"Canada in Negotiations to Buy Smallpox Vaccine" Toronto Star (www.thestar.com) (02/06/03) P. C5; Tomesco, Frederic
Negotiations are taking place between Aventis and the Canadian government for a purchase of 10 million or more doses of smallpox vaccine. The country would maintain the option to buy enough doses for all 30 million citizens in any agreement. While Health Canada spokesperson Ryan Baker admits that the probability of terrorists using smallpox as a tool of destruction is low, the fallout would be severe. ALL INFORMATION, DATA, AND
