Literacy Learning for Children with Autism or Communication Delays
Susan Norwell,M.A. workshop will focus on the development of literacy skills for children on the autistic spectrum . Emphasis will be placed on strategies to develop comprehension for hyperlexic children, language development and processing skills for site readers, and strategies to help children who are nonverbal become readers and writers. The underlying philosophy tying this workshop together is the idea of a comprehensive literacy instruction program and how the various pieces of it affect these children.
