"I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves, and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education."

- How
Well Do Practices Incorporate QI Procedures for Vaccine Delivery? A
Study From the South Carolina Pediatric Practice Research Network
- 44th National Immunization Conference (NIC) (abstract) - "Background:
Vaccine delivery is a primary marker of quality in pediatric practices.
Prompting providers using the quality improvement (QI) approach to
immunize during sick or acute care visits is one intervention that may
improve delivery. To be effective and sustainable, QI procedures should
be tailored to the individual characteristics of the practice."

Responses to: Why did the Lancet take so long? Patient Confidentiality
- Bill Welsh, President Autism Treatment Trust - "Perhaps Ari Zuckerman
or Michael Pegg would be kind enough to enlighten us regarding what
action was taken. But what about Richard Horton, Lancet Editor, surely
he knew earlier than anybody that the journalist had obtained
confidential records. Why did he personally not actuate a police
enquiry? The list of doctors who knew but were content to do nothing is
becoming endless. It would appear that the destruction of Dr Andrew
Wakefield et al was paramount. Ethics, integrity, rectitude and even
common sense lost out in the race to destroy the careers of three fine
physicians. Competing interests: Grandfather to an autistic boy."
