"Vaccine Boom; Evans to Lift Production of Fluvirin" Liverpool Daily Post (icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk) (04/24/03) P. 16; McDonough, Tony
Evans Vaccines, the U.K. vaccines maker, is planning to ramp up production of the Fluvirin influenza vaccine. The move by the subsidiary of PowderJect Pharmaceuticals was prompted by Wyeth withdrawing from the flu vaccine market. Evans CEO Paul Drayson says another two years to three years will be needed to meet the U.S. demand of 150 million doses of vaccine annually. He adds that a merger or acquisition could be completed in the near future to boost the company's production capabilities.
